Wen Yu

Wen is a filmmaker and youth educator from Oakland. She has taught the video program at YR Media and created media literacy workshops and guest artist visits for participants. As an artist and educator, she has previously worked at EPACENTER, the CalArts Community Arts Partnership, YR Media, and the EPFC Collective. Her artistic journey began as a youth at BAVC. She currently is a producer for UGLY BABY, an improv based comedy web-series made with 100s of young artists, musicians, and writers who attend Rock Band Land.

Grace Sisson

Grace is an audio/visual artist and a board member of Oakland Arts for Kids, where she supports art education within the Oakland community and the Oakland Unified School District. As a former educator throughout the Bay Area, Grace is deeply committed to nurturing creativity in young people, and advocating for access to the arts as a vital tool for self-expression and community building. Grace feels that Sun Garden is a sanctuary for youth to become thriving adults of our future.

Laura Rivero

Laura is an audio engineer and educator born and raised in San Francisco. Her background includes working in post-production audio and producing podcasts for independent Latiné creators. As a lifelong lover of music and the arts, she is motivated by her upbringing in an immigrant community to make the arts accessible to young people regardless of socioeconomic background. She has created and facilitated culturally relevant arts curriculum for diverse populations, including English language learners. She believes that every young person has a story and deserves a space to amplify their voice.
